Opening Ceremony of the New 2021-2022 School Year
On September 12th, 2021, the opening ceremony of the new school year was held in St. George International School and Preschool.
The hosts of the event, who welcomed everyone, were the students from 11th and 12th grade Mikhail. P. and Yebin W.
After a short and inspiring introduction, Mrs Kremena Peneva, Chief Executive Officer, was invited to the stage. She sent her greetings to all students and families, as well as to the new 120 students and their parents who joined St. George’s community. Among the reasons for pride, which Mrs. Peneva shared with all guests, were the outstanding achievements of all fourth-graders in the national external evaluation, as well as the Cambridge Checkpoint Exams, the successful realization of all graduates last year in universities according to their wishes, the top awards in Bulgarian language and literature at national competitions, the dozen of golden and silver medals at the World Scholar’s Cup, the opportunity for future graduates to sit SAT exams, the new outdoor classrooms, as well as a special area to meet the needs of 11th and 12th grade students.
On the threshold of his fifth year in St. George International School and Preschool, the head of the school, Mr. Leo Buckley, congratulated all those present on their daily efforts to achieve the best results. He thanked for the trust that has been built in the community and among parents, for the remarkable dedication of all teachers, for the resilience of students, who learned from their mistakes and improved.
Tsvetelina Metodieva, a longtime teacher from St. George International School and Preschool had the honor of speaking on behalf of all teachers. She shared that this day is a personal holiday for each of the teachers in the community, and that every day seems like a holiday, because on that day someone learns to read, draw, create and believe in their dreams. She dedicated a special original poem to all the guests, which excited the community.
Inspiring greetings to all were also sent by the President of the Association of Parents, Mrs. Victoria Stoyanova and the student at St. George International School from 12th grade Maxim I., who conquered the Atlantic Ocean last year.
“Good luck” wished Mr. Assen Christov, who continues to provide active support to the school and its cause!
In conclusion, as tradition requires, the students went by a book arch – a symbol of the knowledge that awaits them in the school year 2021-2022 and took the path that will lead them to accomplish bravely their new dreams!
