Experiences and Emotions during the Tournament of Champions at Yale University

Once again, the incredible adventure of The World Scholar's Cup unfolded at the “Tournament of Champions” held at the Yale University from November 2nd to 8th, 2023. Students from St. George International School and Preschool participated in this prestigious competition, showed their knowledge and were honoured for their skills among more than 800 participants from 65 countries.

The Junior Division, including our students Georgi B., Dimitar B., and Kristina K., won medals for their outstanding performance - gold for Team Writing and an individual gold medal won by Georgi B.

Students from the Senior Division had the opportunity to visit Harvard University and meet a student in Economics who shared insights into student life, the history of the remarkable university, and the steps for application. Another location they explored during the journey was the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they attended a presentation on admissions and, alongside a student in Computer Science and Mathematics, had a tour of the campus. They also spent time at the university bookstore and were impressed by the interesting literature, and acquiring books. Krassimir P. and Assen Ch., who were in a team with a participant from Uganda, both won silver medals for their incredible performance.

One of the captivating and fun social events during the Tournament of Champions is the unique International Fair, where participants present traditional items from their countries. The Bulgarian stand was visited by hundreds, drawn to our culture, and the students shared exciting facts about the country while presenting typical souvenirs.
