For over 15 years now, our Christmas Charity Bazaar has been the most significant and iconic event for our entire school community and a favourite one for all age groups. An event that brings us together and gives our children a valuable example of friendship, teamwork, dedication and mutual help!
We are extremely grateful for the active support of our PTA volunteers, as well as all the children and students, parents and teachers, friends and partners who joined the organi s ation and contributed to the incredible Christmas spirit throughout the day.
Stalls selling a variety of festive treats, artisan handmade Christmas souvenirs and fun workshops kept all guests entertained while performers from our school choir and rock bands kept the singing and dancing going throughout the day and keeping us in good spirits. Meanwhile, in our Parents' Club, under the sounds of a remarkable grand piano performance, the master chefs from Turquoise Restaurant, La Opera Restaurant, Gelato & Latte and Green Deli Cafe succeeded with their aromatic and tempting delicacies to satisfy every appetite and taste.
As a result of our joint efforts, the total amount collected at the end of the day reached BGN 22,100! The funds will be donated to our charitable causes, namely:
- "Medicines for people in need": for more than 15 years the school provides essential medicines for children and people with disabilities at the Center for Social Integration and Rehabilitation, Sofia, and
- "Mission "Rehabilitation camps'': we will make happy the children deprived of parental care with severe physical disabilities from the Center for family-type accommodation, Veliko Tarnovo, by providing them with funds for a summer rehabilitation camp .
The best-performing booth with the most funds collected was that of Grade 2 , which took first place, followed by the Grade 4 and Grade 3 booths. The special prize for the first place winners is more than sweet –hot chocolate with the Head of School , Mr Leo Buckley.
A gain this year our special guests were Santa Claus and his elves, who delighted all the children with special gifts and are already hard at work making their Christmas wishes come true.
The coaches from the extracurricular activities were also part of the Christmas Bazaar . They presented exceptional opportunities for the activities that await our students during the second school term. We are grateful for their preparation and fascinating presentations.
This year St. George International School and Preschool has started a tradition of rewarding its students for their achievements in various sporting, charitable and other initiatives outside of academic life for the respective calendar year. So, for the past year 2022, the following were deservedly awarded: Christian G., 7th grade, Oleg M., 7th grade, Dimitar B., 7th grade, Kristina K., 6th grade, Alexander D., 5th grade , Jia Yu., 9th grade and Nikolay K., 7th grade - for their excellent performance in the three rounds of the World Scholar's Cup competition; Ivailo H. and Simona I., 10th grade - for their achievements in the Duke of Edinburgh `s Award; Ivan M., 11th grade - in recognition of his dedication and mentorship in support of our debate teams Lara Iv. from the 11th grade - for exceptional initiative and social responsibility; Kaloyan M., 8th grade - for outstanding achievements in creative writing; Alexandra S., 6th grade, Sofia U., 3rd grade, Georgia W., 8th grade and Marko C., 9th grade for their achievements in the field of music; Gabriela T., 5th grade for the honours achieved in the field of dance; Laura C., 5th grade for outstanding sporting achievements in horse riding; Arthur R., 9th grade and Louie R., 3rd grade for their achievements in golf; Vasil S., 2nd grade, Alexandra K., Nikola K., Kristiyan B., Kaloyan B. and Todor Ts. and from 3rd grade for exceptional sports achievements in swimming; Eitan G., 5th grade, Domenik K., PG, Georgi T., 5th grade and Kaya S., 3rd grade for their sports achievements in basketball and Luboslav R., 5th grade for the won national and international victories in karting for 2022.
