Inspiring Opportunities

Except for the advanced learning skills, planning, and independence, a unique opportunity that the IGCSE course provides to students is the authentic practical experience in the studied disciplines.

In the last few days, our 9th-grade students jumped into the study of the circulatory system of mammals with enthusiasm and excitement. By dissecting a pig’s heart, they managed to master its structure in detail, observing and reflecting on its various parts, characteristic specifics, and related processes.

At the end of the lab activity, the students learned that the heart of mammals is very different from that of reptiles, amphibians, and fish, and creates what is known as “double circulation”, thanks to the two pumps that work in unison as they pump blood to the lungs and body at the same time.
