3rd March Assembly
Last week’s Thursday was chosen to honour our freedom and commemorate The Liberation Day of Bulgaria through a beautiful afternoon ceremony in St. George International School’s theatre hall. The opening was marked by the national anthem and the emotional Bulgarian poem recitations of six third grade students. Following was a special short video comprising 14 poems delivered by 41 of our brave and eloquent students. The final surprise was a touching shadow theatre play by our seventh graders, representing episodes of great literal creations such as ‘On parting’, ‘A Bulgarian’, ‘Defenders of Shipka‘ and ‘Немили-недраги’ by Bulgarian poet and novelist Ivan Vazov. This performance celebrated 142 years of liberty and over 7 million beating hearts, united in a small country with great history and unyielding spirit.
