Our bright students celebrated the „National Reading Week“ with a number of initiatives. The children met the favourite fairy tales of their teachers, while drawing the hidden lessons. They have joyfully developed several projects where their dreams come true as well as where they could underline the reading benefits. Our 4 Graders have made efforts to express in words, and some of them – in rhymes, their dreams about a star city, inspired by the Rada Moskova’s poem, with which they became familiar during the reading lesson. Throughout the reading week they have proposed to get acquainted with the work of Elin Pelin as well as to present the live and work of this Bulgarian author to their classmates. An increased interest towards the works of Elin Pelin has been already recorded in the library as well as his books could be found in many school bags, which books the children read in their spare time. The week has come to end for the 3 Graders with exchange of books, and yet all our students comprehend and accept the idea, expressed in Charles Eliot’s thought: „Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors, and the most patient of teachers.“
